The Railing Side Wheel Control Method

I was introduced to this method twenty four years ago as a brand new T(4-5) paraplegic. At the time, I was rolling around in the rehabiliatation hospital on a gurney, not yet ready for a wheelchair. The man who demonstrated it to me either came up with the method himself, or he learned from someone else. Regardless, as the number one promoter of this method, I have named it "Railing Side Wheel Control".

The only requirements are one sturdy railing and a light weight wheelchair.

This is a dumb blog with loads of dumb and dangerous methods to use stairs. I am a wheelchair user and can tell you, 90% of wheelchair users don't have that much strength to control the wheelchair on stairs.

Stop giving stupid advice to people, you pinheads.

This is so impressive! I will recommend this video to my disabled cousin so that his dad would no longer to do the full duties of helping him up the stairs. All he needs is practice and with the right supervision and I believe he’ll be alright. This has been the only problem left to be resolved ever since the transportation difficulties have been solved because of their new MV1 wheelchair adaptable van. To know about these vans click here: http://www.mv1ofindianapolis.com/mv1/wheelchair-accessible-cars-in-indiana-accessibility Thanks for posting this video! It will surely be helpful to many!
